The European Union is discussing the possibility of lifting sanctions on Venezuela. Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares stated that if Venezuela takes certain steps, it would be logical for EU sanctions to disappear.
This comes as Colombian President Gustavo Petro has said the EU should 'return' Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro to be judged in his own country. The European Commission has also reiterated that it does not recognize the legitimacy of Venezuela's interim president.
