Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić signed a set of judicial laws, which critics, including European Parliament rapporteur for Serbia, Marta Kos, say are problematic and could harm Serbia's chances of joining the European Union's Schengen area. The laws are referred to as the 'Mrdić laws' by some media.
In a separate development, Vučić stated that Serbia would be willing to accept European Union membership without the right to veto decisions. He also claimed he is the 'freest president in the world' and that the state is not involved in the possession of five tons of marijuana.
