European Union makes decisions on food labels, industrial policy, and Balkan workers

The European Union decided that plant-based products like 'veggie burgers' can keep their names, rejecting a proposed ban on terms like 'steak' for meatless foods. The EU also launched a 'Buy European' initiative to strengthen its domestic industry, though reports say some of the related rules were later weakened.

In other moves, the EU created a 'Talent Pool' program aimed at attracting skilled workers from the Balkans. A separate report found a record number of dangerous consumer products in the EU market last year.
