Trump and Kushner propose a $25 billion plan to rebuild Gaza with a $1 billion membership fee

Jared Kushner, who is Donald Trump's son-in-law, has unveiled a detailed plan to rebuild Gaza. The proposal, presented at an event for Trump's 'Board of Peace,' calls for spending up to $30 billion to transform the area into an economic hub with skyscrapers and an airport by 2035.

A central part of the plan involves countries paying $1 billion for a permanent seat on this 'Board of Peace' to oversee Gaza's reconstruction. Trump has threatened to impose 200% tariffs on French wine and champagne to pressure French President Emmanuel Macron into joining the board. Other countries, like the Czech Republic, have said they cannot pay the fee.

The United Arab Emirates has separately announced plans to fund a 'planned community' in southern Gaza. Germany and others have stated that Palestinians must be included in any US-led reconstruction plans, while reports indicate challenges in getting aid into Gaza and using Palestinian Authority funds to clear rubble.
