A federal judge orders the Trump administration to restore funding for a major New York tunnel project

A federal judge ordered the Trump administration to unfreeze more than $16 billion in funding for a major rail tunnel project connecting New York and New Jersey. The White House had been holding up the money, and the judge gave the administration more time to comply with the order to restore it.

This comes as the U.S. government ended a partial shutdown after Trump signed a $1.2 trillion funding bill. During the shutdown, TSA agents at airports were among those working without pay.
