Israel expands ground operations into Lebanon against Hezbollah

Israel has sent ground forces into southern Lebanon for what it calls a 'targeted operation' against Hezbollah, marking a significant expansion of the conflict along the border. The Israeli army chief has stated that these ground operations will be expanded further.

In the fighting, Israel has denied a Hezbollah claim that the group destroyed 29 Israeli tanks. Separately, the Israeli military confirmed that the first Israeli civilian reported killed near the border was actually struck by Israeli fire, not by Hezbollah.
