EU countries support Cyprus after drone attack on British base

The European Union is expressing strong support for Cyprus after a drone attack targeted a British air base on the island. The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said the bloc stands 'unequivocally' with its member state.

Cyprus postponed a planned meeting of EU ministers because of the incident. Several EU countries, including Greece and Spain, are sending military assets like warships and fighter jets to the region as a show of solidarity. EU leaders are discussing the bloc's mutual defense clause but have not activated it.
