Marseille authorities seize record counterfeit goods and investigate multiple local officials

Authorities in Marseille conducted a major operation at a local market, seizing a record haul of over 200,000 counterfeit items. The operation was part of a broader crackdown on illegal activity in the city.

Separately, local official Stéphane Ravier faced a significant day in court on Tuesday. In another case, five municipal workers were convicted for illegally charging fees for access to a free public waste disposal facility.

A preliminary investigation has also been opened into school construction projects managed by Benoît Payan, who is a local official in Marseille.
