Gazprom shifts gas exports from Europe to China, setting new supply records

Russian energy company Gazprom is dramatically changing where it sends its natural gas. For the first time, the company is supplying more gas to China than to Europe, and it has set a new daily record for deliveries to China through the Power of Siberia pipeline.

At the same time, Gazprom has been withdrawing gas from storage in Ukraine, and Poland has offered to help Slovakia replace Russian gas supplies. These moves come as global gas prices have jumped to record levels.
