UN Security Council meets on Iran and passes resolution demanding it stop attacks

The United Nations Security Council held an emergency meeting and passed a resolution demanding that Iran halt its attacks on neighboring Gulf states. The meeting was convened after military strikes on Iran.

During the session, the United States accused Iran of trying to assassinate President Donald Trump. Melania Trump, who was presiding over the meeting, spoke about children but did not mention the war in Iran. Iran criticized the UN resolution as one-sided and warned the council of grave dangers to civilians from what it called US-Israeli aggression.
