European countries send military forces to Cyprus after drone strike

Several European countries are sending military forces to Cyprus after a drone strike hit a British base on the island. The United Kingdom, France, and Greece are deploying air-defense forces, including warships and anti-drone systems, to the area.

France is also sending its aircraft carrier, the Charles de Gaulle, to the Mediterranean. French President Emmanuel Macron mentioned "nuclear deterrence" in connection with the situation. The European Union has decided not to activate its common defense clause in response to the attacks.
