Delhi faces severe air pollution crisis and a series of violent crimes

Delhi is dealing with two major, separate problems. The city's air pollution is so severe that officials have repeatedly imposed and lifted emergency restrictions, with doctors warning the toxic air is causing a public health crisis.

At the same time, a series of violent crimes has occurred in the city, including the killing of a 12-year-old boy by his stepfather and the murder of a pregnant SWAT commando by her husband.
