German officials respond to Trump's approach to Iran

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said she welcomes President Donald Trump's announcement that he is trying to start talks with Iran. She suggested this could be a turning point.

Another German politician, Friedrich Merz, also supported Trump's decision to delay potential military strikes against Iran and instead pursue diplomacy. Meanwhile, some of the United States' allies in Asia are reportedly worried that a war with Iran would weaken defenses against China.
