China offers to mediate between Afghanistan and Pakistan

China has offered to help resolve tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan. The Chinese foreign ministry called for the two countries to settle their issues through dialogue and consultation, not force, and said China would serve as a stabilizing force for regional security.
