Israeli military operations along northern border with Lebanon and Syria

The Israeli military, the IDF, has been active along its northern borders. They detained two Israeli activists who crossed into Lebanon to plant trees and later returned them to Israel. In separate incidents, the IDF arrested an official from the Lebanese group Jamaa Islamiya and destroyed a weapons depot belonging to the group in southern Syria.

Hezbollah, another Lebanese group, criticized the arrest of the Jamaa Islamiya official. The IDF also intercepted a drone carrying pistols from Jordan and denied carrying out a drone strike near a United Nations peacekeeping force in Lebanon.
