Lagos authorities take multiple actions on crime and public order

Police in Lagos announced several law enforcement actions, including declaring a CEO wanted for alleged involvement in murders and arresting seven people after a communal clash that left one person dead. A new Inspector-General of Police, 59-year-old Lagos-born Tunji Disu, was also named.

Other agencies were active as well. The NDLEA arrested a businessman with cocaine hidden on his person at the Lagos airport. Separately, the Lagos taskforce impounded 50 motorcycles and cleared shanties along the Coastal Road, while the state government announced a crackdown on people giving themselves illegal chieftaincy titles.
