Trump officials propose alternative to WHO as Newsom criticizes U.S. image abroad

Trump administration officials have proposed an alternative to the World Health Organization, which they have criticized as too expensive. The World Health Assembly is scheduled to decide on the U.S. withdrawal from the WHO in May.

Separately, California Governor Gavin Newsom and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez criticized Trump while attending a summit in Europe. Newsom said world leaders see the U.S. as a 'wrecking ball' under Trump's leadership.

In another development, Trump called Olympic skier Hunter Hess 'a real loser' after Hess made comments about what it means to represent the United States.
