Putin meets with Cuban officials and criticizes US sanctions

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Cuba's foreign minister in Moscow. During the talks, Putin said Russia 'always' stands by Cuba and called US sanctions and restrictions against the country 'unacceptable'.

However, the reports note that Putin did not announce any new, concrete forms of support for Cuba during the meeting. A Kremlin spokesperson also stated that Moscow is not discussing the issue of Cuba with Washington.
