Mexico has suspended its oil shipments to Cuba. The country's president, Claudia Sheinbaum, confirmed the halt, stating that the state oil company Pemex had an open contract to supply crude oil to the island.
Former U.S. President Donald Trump said he asked Sheinbaum to stop the shipments and that she complied. Mexico says it will continue to send humanitarian aid, like food, to Cuba instead.
