European Parliament approves a 90-billion-euro loan for Ukraine

The European Parliament has approved a massive 90-billion-euro loan package to provide financial aid to Ukraine. The move comes as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had been urgently requesting the funds, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen had pledged the EU would deliver the loan 'one way or another'.

However, the process has faced significant hurdles. Hungary has blocked new EU sanctions against Russia and is also blocking other financial support for Ukraine, creating tension within the bloc and raising questions about European unity on the issue.
