Israel announces plans for new settlements in Jerusalem and Gaza

Israeli officials have announced plans to expand settlements in occupied territories. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said Israel would occupy the Gaza Strip and establish Jewish settlements there. Military and planning officials also detailed a multi-year plan to expand Jerusalem beyond its 1967 borders into the West Bank, including the construction of new settlement units and roads.

These announcements come as Israeli police stated they would not coordinate with Al-Aqsa Mosque guards regarding rules for Ramadan in Jerusalem.
