NATO shoots down Iranian missiles over Turkish airspace

Turkey says NATO air defense systems intercepted and destroyed multiple ballistic missiles that entered its airspace from Iran. The incidents involved at least two, and possibly three, separate missiles being shot down.

Turkey has deployed additional NATO Patriot missile defense systems to its border region in response to the threat. Officials have stated these actions are defensive but warn the situation risks expanding the ongoing conflict in the region.
