Russia's Federal Security Service, or FSB, announced a series of operations and arrests over a recent period. The agency reported stopping weapons smuggling, detaining people it called illegal gunsmiths, and arresting several officials and citizens on various charges.
In separate incidents, the FSB said it detained its own employees in St. Petersburg who were allegedly extorting money from a businessman, and it is investigating Pavel Durov in a case about alleged assistance to terrorism. The service also reported destroying drones carrying explosives and preventing a planned attack on an energy facility.
