Singapore Parliament removes opposition leader after he is convicted of lying

Singapore's Parliament has voted to remove Pritam Singh from his official role as the Leader of the Opposition. This action came after he was convicted of giving false testimony to a parliamentary committee.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong formally stripped Singh of the title and the associated salary and privileges that come with the position.
