Netflix faces antitrust probe and Senate hearing over Warner Bros. deal

The U.S. Justice Department has reportedly begun an antitrust investigation into Netflix's proposed merger with Warner Bros. Eleven states have urged the Justice Department to thoroughly probe the deal. Netflix's co-CEO faced questioning about the merger at a U.S. Senate hearing.

Trump said he supports a separate media merger between Nexstar and Tegna, arguing big TV networks need more competition. He also said he would recuse himself from any review of the Warner Bros. deal. Following Netflix's reported withdrawal from the bidding, the Ellisons are positioned to acquire Warner Bros.
