Lagos police take multiple actions on public safety and order

Police in Lagos, Nigeria, have been involved in several separate public safety and order incidents. They confirmed no shots were fired at anti-demolition protesters, arrested a man for sending bomb threats to schools, and deployed officers to schools following an attack scare.

In other actions, the Lagos State Assembly backed the demolition of illegal structures, and police arrested 281 people described as 'street urchins' to restore public order. Authorities also defended the arrest of minors during a sweep of the Lekki–Epe expressway.
