Bangladesh begins election campaigning after Prime Minister Hasina's government was removed

Bangladesh has officially started its election campaign period. This is the first national election since Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government was ousted.

In the capital Dhaka, a key race is shaping up between two candidates both named Saiful. Separately, a Hindu leader from Hasina's political party has died while in police custody.
