Tinubu intervenes in Rivers state political crisis as impeachment proceedings halt

President Bola Tinubu met with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and former governor Nyesom Wike in Abuja. The meeting came as the Rivers State Assembly halted impeachment proceedings against Fubara and his deputy.

Separately, the anti-corruption agency ICPC raided a residence linked to former Kaduna State governor Nasir el-Rufai in Abuja. The labor unions NLC and TUC also announced plans for a solidarity rally in the capital.
