Trump supports new Russia sanctions bill as Putin offers frozen assets for Ukraine

President Donald Trump has given his support to a new bill in the U.S. Senate that would impose tougher sanctions on Russia. The bill, discussed by Senator Lindsey Graham, could lead to tariffs as high as 500% on countries that support Moscow's war in Ukraine.

At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed using Russian assets that are frozen in the United States to fund aid for Ukraine and Gaza. This comes as U.S. companies, like the Carlyle Group, are making deals to buy assets from sanctioned Russian firms like Lukoil.
